Naw, I'm not gonna laugh at anybody. My 14-year-old grandson does his curls with 12 lb. dumbells. Up until a few months ago, I did them with 10s. After I started having shoulder problems again, I reduced that to 8s. And when I thought I'd be helping my wife with her recovery at home, I got 2 and 3 lb. dumbells.

So I totally understand that the exercise, the weight, and the reps have to fit your present circumstances. Based on that, I'm wondering if you need to find a different exercise or further adjust the weight or reps for your shoulder. Also, the old standby of moist heat on the affected area before your workout followed by cold packs afterward might help.
