self-denial for the greater good=self-mutilation?! just kidding. well, maybe sometimes.

on the other hand, it is daunting, for mortals like me, to contemplate the absolute purity of heart, mind, and spirit that must accompany any deed declared to be for the greater good.

otherwise, there's such devastating potential for self-righteousness, hypocrisy, self-deception and plain, good old fashioned, shooting oneself in the foot.

Lines are blurred depending on perspective .... one person's self-denial could be seen as heroic or stupid .. depending on one's view of the world...

so... are will we see you at Night Writers?

agree with you on perspective but seem to have problem when objective reality intrudes. have also demonstrated talent for shooting self in foot. and perhaps wounding others with same shot.

as for night writers, maybe, depending on date. leaving for left coast on july 6th, back on 24th. nothing ready to read but would like to see everyone.
