The Nammys
Oct. 1st, 2011 02:44 amTwo bands from the local Onondaga Reservation, both fronted by bluesman Curtis Waterman, are up for this year's Native American Music Award in the "Best Blues Song" category. The band Cornbred is up for the "Rez Bomb" track from their CD album of the same name and the band Tabletop Three is up for the track "Louise."
You might want to note that the Tabletop Three entry is actually mis-labeled on the web page, but you can hear all five entries in the blues category, and vote for your favorite, here: http://www.nativeamericanmusicawards.com/blues.cfm. (Our man Curtis plays a wicked mouth harp on both of the above-mentioned tracks.)
