Nuttin' on the 'Puter
May. 6th, 2019 08:29 pmI didn't do anything today as far as solving the error message about the computer's CPU fan not working at startup. I did my usual morning routine and then decided to invite my grandson over for an early dinner. I had to cook SOMETHING for this evening--and for the freezer--so decided to invite him and make THAT my project for the day.
He has his team (soccer) training Monday nights anyway, which means I drive him to and from, and I wanted to discuss the approach we'd be taking with respect to his 1-on-1 sessions as well. So Monday night dinner here makes sense. I'd also decided I wanted to tweak a recipe that he likes, too, rather than to take on something brand new on a day when meal prep had to happen within a certain window.
The recipe to be tweaked was a low-sodium turkey marinara casserole which I enhance with a halfway decent California pinot noir. Today's tweak consisted of pre-cooking the spiral-style pasta for only 5 minutes and then adding an extra half cup of the pinot noir to be absorbed by the pasta at the stage where all the ingredients are simmered together.
This turned out better, since I'm not a fan of overdone pasta, and what recipe wouldn't benefit from the added pinot noir? Except, you know, oatmeal cookies. Maybe. But even that might be worth a try, lol.
Anyway, dinner was good and hopefully the CPU won't fry before tomorrow. Because, if there's anything worse than overdone pasta, it's a fried CPU...
