Jan. 5th, 2020 03:45 pmJust ordered the HBO miniseries Empire Falls, starring Ed Harris, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Helen Hunt and a host of others, from Barnes & Noble. Also the book by the same title by Richard Russo.
And I don't give a Flying F*ck what Slate.com said about it, I've loved the series ever since I first saw it back in, what, 2005? In my opinion--the only one that counts at MY dinner theater, lol--it fills the flavor spectrum, as well as the movie screen, with equal helpings of salty and sweet.
Currently trying to finish Charles C. Mann's 1491 before I have to switch gears and start my re-read of Tommy Orange's There There ahead of the LPL book club meeting towards the end of the month...
