Finally called the doc about the ear infection that's been nagging at me the past 3 days. Was able to get an appt a little past noon today.

For several years, I've had something called "swimmer's ear." The irony being that I'd likely drown in anything more than a teacup of water.

Always the same ear, always that infernal itching a day or so after I've showered. Which is why I now shower only once a month. Just kidding. I ALWAYS shower at least twice a month.

And when the itching starts, I start poking at it with my fingers. Like you tell your kids to never, EVER do.

My grandfather used to say that you should never put anything besides your elbow in your ear. I never understood that, so I continued through life using my fingers.

Because, obviously, if God had intended for us to use our elbows, He'd have given us 10 of them instead of only 2. Not to mention locating them more conveniently.

My grandfather had apparently never considered the math or physiology involved. Or the theology.

(That time when God took a rib out of Adam to create Eve? THAT'S when He would've fixed the elbow thing, if that's what He'd intended. I guess that's a Methodist for you.)

Anyway, while I was there, they held me down and forcibly administered what they SAID was my annual flu shot. So now, both my shoulder and my ear hurt like Hell.

Aren't you supposed to feel BETTER after going to the doctor? Another childhood myth shattered!

As a result, I've decided to take the rest of the day off.

(Like I'd been planning on solving world hunger otherwise.)

Hope everyone stays safe and has a good day...
