Tired tonight. Shoveled half the driveway this morning then went to Lowe's and got a wider, "pusher" shovel and finished the job this evening. And there really wasn't a lot of it, maybe 1-3," but the stuff was pretty heavy, due to high moisture content.
Over the next 60 hours, we're supposed to have wind chill temps below freezing with an arctic air mass sweeping across lakes Erie and Ontario where the cold air will pick up moisture, from the much-warmer lakes, and bring it inland in the form of "lake effect" snow.
Not looking forward to it, but it's what I've lived with practically my whole life, having been born and raised a few blocks off of Lake Erie where the winds and snowfall could be truly brutal at times.
Of course, back then, we thought it was great fun, sledding down icy hills, head-first, at break-neck speed, etc.
Now, somehow, "the thrill is gone" and I feel like Ten Bears, the aging Lakota chief in Dances With Wolves, who much prefered to sit near a warm fire wrapped in his buffalo robes...
