LOL, yes, I agree about the "hands-on" part of organizing sort of "soothing the savage breast," but of course I have to carry on a bit about it for the story-telling drama. But in the end it does bring a bit of focus, to the scattered mind and emotions as well as to the work bench.
And you're right about the bonding with the kids, too. I hadn't realized the extent to which that was happening with my granddaughters and what a calming effect that has as well. Maybe because I'd been so exclusively focused on my grandson for so long and the fact that his entry into the teen years has brought some anxiety over his choices along with a sense of loss.
I am VERY glad to hear about the nephew you encouraged about the running--it's so beneficial in so many ways--and glad also that his parents are now able to be supportive...
