The perfectly-ordered furniture showroom, in the front of my house, is now a shambles. The gorgeous gold and copper curtains are alarmingly disheveled, with one of them unceremoniously draped over the wrought iron plant stand beside the entertainment console. Which now has a dozen small Thomas the Train faces peering out from its formerly uncluttered--as in empty--shelves.

All of which a more orderly mind--than mine has been, of late--might see as the perfect segue down to floor level and the three or four miles of Thomas the Train plastic track which now encircles the lovely copper-toned carpet in front of the matching sofa and love seat which are obviously misaligned and otherwise out of place due to the frighteningly random energies of a rambunctious three-year-old.

It's an order of chaos so intense, so unnerving, that it even suggests that the marvelously meandering plastic track, recently laid out by her 9-year-old sister, might be the polyvinyl parallel of an ordered universe emerging from the Big Bang. In theory, only, of course. And relatively speaking. OK, you get the idea, lol.

In other, thankfully fewer words, the younger two of the three granddaughters who live nearby visited yesterday and played indoors while their mom weeded and mulched the flower beds outside of the house which I've been renting from her.

Ironic that the bringing of order OUTSIDE has induced such disorder INSIDE, no? But wait, there's more.

Strangely enough, the utter chaos thus visited on my once-pristine living space has somehow induced a level of tranquility not felt in many days inside of my head. (See what I did there? The outside v. inside thingy again?)

Consequently, and uncharacteristically, I think I'll leave the train right where it is. For, you know, the visual therapy.

Besides, as my granddaughter helpfully suggested, I could use it to distribute the books in event that my book club were to meet here someday...
