if only .... children could rule the world .... everyone would have to "play nice."

maybe that's why Jesus is reported to have said that we must all become like children to enter the kingdom of heaven....

yes, and i must say, it's been a most painful journey to the beginning of my own understanding of the many levels on which adults, through selfishness, stupidity, weakness, can corrupt and abuse the innocence of that vision of life.

having said that, the question remains as to whether and how i'll respond to the lessons paid for, in part, by my own grandson. because it's also my conclusion that it's in our dealings with children that we find the truest measure of our own adulthood.

"suffer the little children," indeed. it's interesting that someone, in the time of king james i presume, chose to transliterate a vowel which means "allow" in that way...
