thisnewdaySo we're on our way to the next show in Iowa. The bus is crowded, the silos and cornfields are flashing by, and she's just sat down in the seat next to me. I don't know her but I like her for her athleticism and focus and intensity. We've just started the pre-season of a 17,000 mile summer tour with an elite corps in "Marching Music's Major League," Drum Corps International.
We started as rivals but maybe we'll become friends. She's come a long way for this, across an ocean, across a continent, across a cultural divide. She's here for the music, but there's something else. And a surprising connection that neither would've imagined.
