Last Trip Home

Dad passed away in his sleep at around 4:10 this morning. The nurse who called said that my sisters had been with him so that he wasn't alone. I'm gonna get some sleep, now, and prepare to travel in the morning. I'm guessing it'll be one of my last trips home...

thanks. time passes, we get busy. that's the excuse i use, anyway. it wasn't unexpected, the man was 94 after all. but i still feel like i need to take a step back and sort of let it settle around me.

having my grandson around has helped. keeps me grounded in the present and focused on the future. but even so, there are some things that will have to be dealt with. and i'm sure they'll inevitably pop up here.
