Proud to Be Her Dad
Jun. 12th, 2007 04:34 pmLast week, Sarah went into work, apologized for the short notice, and got the Executive Chef to give her this week off to help her sister with the new baby. She also canceled plans for a fall vacation that she'd been looking forward to with her boyfriend.
Then, the morning of her flight, she got up at 4:30 AM, traveled half a day with nothing to eat, and arrived in time to greet the new baby and help reset a house and kitchen that had recently been damaged by a catastrophic plumbing failure.
As I see it, that reaches way beyond helpful to heroic. So I'm thinking that on Sunday, when she gets back home, I'll give HER a Father's Day card for making me so proud to be what I am--her dad...
