Saturday Afternoon
Oct. 1st, 2010 12:19 pmI wasn't expecting this at all, am still not sure what brought it to me. A random cadence floating past me from across the universe, maybe. "Saturda-a-y afternoon, Saturda-a-y afternoon."
Then I found a YouTube clip, of Gracie Slick rousing the Woodstock Nation at dawn. "Won't you try-y-y-y-y, Won't you try-y-y-y-y." And I listened until, for whatever reason, the sadness and loss found their way into my throat and eyes.
After which I waited, because I had to, until it was gone...
