Our Conquistador, a fragment
Oct. 8th, 2010 07:28 amIt was Tommy, of course, who pointed out the metallic gleam of a particular barn roof on a hillside across the Naples Valley from us.
It seemed like it was always Tommy who pointed out the important things, the landmarks found through intrepid exploration, which were in turn needed by others in their navigation of this new land.
He was, it seemed, our Lewis and Clark or, from an earlier more savage time, our Conquistador.
