The girl is from a churchy, gospel-singing family from Rochester NY, but she calls herself the "Southern Hummingbird" and the music rolls like juke-joint psychedelia.
I love the depth and texture of the tonal resolutions, provided, at intervals, by the background music. Which works in counterpoint to the scattering of approximate rhymes and the random moments of emotional clarity described by the vocalist who is, as the song title tells us, "Drunk."
And, yeah, I know, it's a lot more complicated than that. For both the girl from Rochester and the tired old man listening...
