Tonight, this morning, I'm still wondering: is this how it ends?

I went to the doctor, yesterday, my lungs beginning to fill as they never had before. He said it was good that I'd come in, not waited until after the weekend.

He said it was an infection and started me on an antibiotic. They also ordered a new nebulizer and compressor to replace the worn and broken ones that had been my grandson's.

Even though I'd gone into it feeling otherwise, I thought, well maybe this can work, maybe I can recover. Maybe this is not the time when I'll join my wife beneath that chunk of rose-colored granite with our names on it..

So I took my pill and did my treatments, one right before bedtime; was so exhausted that I fell asleep with the lights on, uncovered, half sitting up.

And when I awoke, at 4 AM, it was there again, much stronger, the ache, the rattle, the congestion in my chest. And I thought, well, this is apparently not over yet.

Then, as I struggled against the pain, of fatigued and torn thoracic muscles, I thought again: not over yet but maybe soon will be...

Suddenly, this afternoon, started feeling better. First noticed that the appetite was back, then the absence of fever and fatigue. Lungs are still crappy, full of junk and noise, but that'll take some time and some hard work with the breathing treatments. Which will thankfully be done with the new nebulizer which is much more effective than the old setup.

Anyway, since I'm apparently going to live, I think I'm gonna download the trial version of TurboCad's DesignCad software to help me do revised cutting bills and drilling diagrams for the drill stand and work bench that my grandson and I have started in the basement. The changes aren't complicated but they're fairly substantial, in terms of shear numbers of parts, and I want the paperwork to be up to date and usable as a teaching aid with my grandson.

Then, if the trial verson works out, I'll download the full version and have it to use on future projects and for Jason and the other grandkids to play with should any of them seem inclined toward design or engineering.

Hopefully I won't get screwed over by the T'Cad people like I was by AutoDesk, producers of AutoCad, a few years ago. Which is a whole other story, almost as boring as this one. But, hey, I'm gonna live to tell it...
