Dear Ms. Waxman:

Reading your novels—I’ve just finished The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and am anxiously awaiting UPS delivery of Other People’s Houses—is the only thing that calms me enough to get normal blood pressure readings in the morning.

The problem is that I consider myself, ahem, a MANLY, 75-year-old male.

Please, Ms. Waxman, what’s wrong with me and what can I do to fix it?

 Sincerely,

 LPK

PS—I’d re-read my Hemingway collection, but I’ve also recently finished Paula McClain’s The Paris Wife and Love and Ruin and think he’s an SOB.
