Waiting

Waiting to hear back from the doc about an emergency appointment. Been coughing a lot the past 2-3 weeks and then, last night, couldn't stop.

When I checked the meds that I use in the nebulizer, they had all expired. Which I suppose is good because it means I haven't had to deal with the most severe symptoms in a while.

However, I've got 'em now. Don't have much energy, at the moment, so I'll leave it at that. And if I don't croak, I'll be back to say how it goes...

For the last few weeks I've not had much time to spend on LJ or read my friends page. Reading your post today, I feel like I must have missed something. When I have a little block of time, I will read your latest journal entries and try to catch up. Thinking of you and hope for good news from your doctor.

Thanks for your comment and your concern. It's basically a flare-up of my COPD symptoms which are usually controlled by my daily medications. The real problem is my doctor's medical practice, which has apparently grown too large to maintain good internal communications, not to mention functional relations with their patients.

They seem to have all the technological "bells and whistles" but it appears that they've forgotten that it takes a well-functioning human component to make it all work. I had four phone contacts with that office, over a period of several hours, for the simple purpose of either renewing my prescription or making an appointment for an office visit and, by the end of the day, neither had been accomplished.

I'm gonna call their office one more time, read 'em the riot act, and if they don't respond appropriately I'll be looking for a different medical services provider.
