Think I broke a finger on my right hand playing goalie for my grandson. We've been going over to the high school athletic complex since the weather sort of broke so he can get in a few touches between games and practices and I guess this morning I had a little bad luck. (I'm sure Her Nurseliness would call it "bad judgement" and she's probably right.) Can just about bend it far enough to type. Nuts!

Hope you didn't break it - hope it's just badly bruised.

Yeah, I'm really hoping for the "badly bruised" scenario too. The good news is that Jason has been kicking the ball a LOT harder lately, LOL...

Oh, dear. Which hand? which finger? I hope it's not broken, but if it is, I hope it heals quickly. Will you have to wrap it or have a splint on it?

Well, my wife is suggesting that I tape it to the adjacent finger until it heals and I might do that for soccer, just to protect it, but the damage seems to be right at the joint nearest the hand on my right middle finger. And, of course, I'm right handed.

Thing is, I don't want to lose mobility in that joint so I'm going to try doing some squeezing exercises in hot water every day which seems to help. I had a "boxer's fracture" of the same hand a few years ago and had to endure months of p.t. to get it working again. So I'm definitely leaning toward practicing orthopedic medicine without a license on this one, LOL.

Thanks for asking and have a great weekend!
