Went out late, this afternoon, to see if the bins that I'd bought four decades ago were still available. They're not. I actually have two different sizes and wanted to changes the ratio of the two sizes to favor the longer bins and also improve the look of the display. But given that I at least have sufficient bins to fill my shelving units, it's not a major concern.

What I did find was a cheapo wooden stool, which I figured I'd need for any extended or close-up work at the shop tables. I was actually hoping to find a metal one with adjustable legs but this one will work, at 1/3 the cost--which I need to be conscious of after buying "Sophia's craft tools"--and its natural finish looks good with the unfinished wood of the tables.

By the afternoon, I had about 2/3 of the bins washed, dried, and on the shelves, so that's progress. I plan on finishing the rest tomorrow and maybe putting into them some of the hardware that's scattered throughout the basement and is currently impossible to locate when I need it.

Also got a bit of my Steinbeck bio read--I'm finally 50 pages in--and am still considering taking a break from book club this month. If I decide to do that, I'm definitely gonna order the movie and book versions of Cannery Row and probably a couple of others. Which is what I used to do, years ago, when I was trying to make up for perceived deficiencies in my undergrad program, especially with respect to the modern and post-modern eras of American lit.

Anyway, that's it for me. Hoping everyone has had a good day and may be blessed with a restful night...

Working on the wood shop, the organizing part is something I actually enjoy. Putting my hands on supplies soothes something even if I'm not making art - relieving the chaos of piles maybe?

I had read about the shooting area but don't think I responded, and the music things w. the grands. Something I have noticed is how a basic interest in what the 'young ones' are doing can help - form a bond but lift them bc they are being seen/heard. I encouraged one of the grand-nephews w. running and now he does cross country - his parents are more involved and when they wouldn't take him to the high school track, he found a path in the pastures/fields where he could safely jog/run. It's been helpful I think, except for the gun crap... he is one of the twins... he has found something he is good at and it helps that his parents are supportive now instead of it being a nuisance.
