Maybe I'm just emotional today but hearing this and then reading about it I started to cry. Wow. I think the tears are for the bravery. When I read a passenger used his own body to block the window to try and help the decompression of the cabin.
Yeah, I had a hard time keeping the emotions under control as I was listening to it and felt like it was something that definitely needed to be shared.
To me, it's one piece of that hard evidence we need to put out there against the undervaluing of women in our society and in Western culture.
One of the sad ironies of Tammie Jo Shult's career as a Navy fighter pilot is that two months after she retired from the service, women were granted permission to fly combat missions, something which she'd wanted to do from the start.
Clearly, though, this was the most important mission of her life, something that I'm sure at least 140 other people would agree with...
