One Such Moment

thisnewdayAt the end of it all, not a bad day. It started with my grandson texting me, just to say hi, got the new basement windows in, the daughter brought the three girls over and ordered pizza and wings, and the son-in-law made it here in time to eat.
When my daughter proposed ordering the dinner, I went out and got chocolate milk for the girls and these outrageously decadent chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Ever notice, though, that no one ever complains about too much chocolate, lol?
Anyway, the windows look great--so much natural light in the basement, now--and the girls had a great time with Thomas the Train.
And, oh yeah, maybe best of all--after the almost totally unsolicited text from my grandson, of course--the three-octave marimba we'd ordered for the oldest granddaughter is in, assembled, tuned, and ready for pickup!
Can't wait for her to see it! She has a master class in keyboard percussion the last week of July, followed by a week of band camp in mid-August, and this will be the perfect way for her to start the new regimen they're instituting at the next level.
Always thankful for a day so filled with the good stuff that all the regrets, all the sadness, are just pushed aside, if only for a moment.
Hope that everyone else has had at least one such moment in their lives today...
