A Good Day
Aug. 23rd, 2018 10:25 pmHad a pretty good couple of days in the shop. Cut 4 radii on the 3/4" plywood platform and today cut one corner of the2x6 base. That's the one that I really wanted to try, and the saw powered through it and the double-sided Spyder-brand blade did the job as well.
Not a lot of work, but had the book club in the AM, picked up some hardware, and percolated the design through to where I can get down to some serious work on the build part of it tomorrow. Also been working on a plan--a decision, really--on the shelving that I need to make the shop more functional from this point on.
For that, I'm gonna order some ready-built crap from Home Depot and just wait for its arrival while working on the airgun project. Still have to pick up some aluminum angle and rubber tile, but now I'm more confident that I know where the project is headed and how I'm gonna get it there.
Could take some time to do finished drawings, but will likely save that for later. Meanwhile, I'm collecting receipts for materials and hardware which I'll put with the drawings so I'll have a better handle on costs if I decide to do anything more with it.
I actually like the design better because it now includes some enhancements to make it more easily adjustable. I do plan to test the concept before fully finishing it, but it'll be that much closer to something I might market, if it comes to that.
Anyway, going to bed with something accomplished and something to look forward to. Which is my definition of a good day...
