After a disappointing dinner, last night, at which my grandson uttered perhaps 3-5 words, picked at his food, and stared at his cell phone, the ride home from a friend's house--which I was asked to provide tonight--was actually quite congenial.
It included a discussion of one of those questions, which he sometimes asks, wherein the respondent remains unsure, over the course of it, what the question REALLY is and is therefore doubtful as to whether it's actually being answered.
We won't get into the substance of yesterday's discussion here because, after 24 hours of reflection, I'm STILL unsure that I could accurately state the question.
The point is, there WAS a discussion in which two people were speaking in response to each other. Two people in the same physical space with neither of their faces illuminated by the omnipresent glow of a digital communication device.
So, yayyy, life is good. Or better than it was, anyway. I still have a low-sodium lasagna taking up space on a shelf of my refrigerator. Made with, gag, Swiss cheese. WTF was I even thinking?
Oh yeah, that it's low in sodium. And made from a recipe. Written by doctors.
And tastes like (You fill in the blank, because I can't. I've been through enough already.)...

At least it's a beautiful day here.
