Thanks! I've learned some interesting things about myself while playing this. For instance, I've lost a lot of games because I tend to focus exclusively on words rather than including strategy in my (limited) field of vision. Wonder what that says about my approach to life, lol...

Hahaha, GREAT! The one I play has one ad at the beginning, but I usually just hit the silence button to avoid that and the distracting audio effects they apparently think will enhance the game. After the initial ad, that's it--as long as you keep winning. What a great incentive to "up" your game, lol. Anyway this is the site: https://www.mindgames.com/game/Word+Wipe

Thanks ever so :) I play one called Word Cookies, and had accumulated a high score then the damn thing went wonky and reinstalling it erased all my points.

So, be aware, I'm out to get ya! Haha

OMG, I hate it when that happens! And this program isn't perfect--you get to rate it periodically and the most I've given it is 4 out of 5 because there are words in every day usage that it doesn't accept and others that it accepts at one time and not another. And then, if I'm having a tantrum over a word I think I've finished in time and it shuts me down, I give it a 3, lol.

And remember the thing about checking to see if it IS accepting input after timing out. Just run your cursor across whatever line is visible and, if the letters are lighting up, you can score extra points and sometimes even save your game. Also, when that happens, you can click on a covered area of the board and the letter will appear in the upper right. (Then click on the same spot again to turn it off.)

I sometimes plot out everything that's left and then go after the max lines and words that I can get with whatever's left. I know, cheater, cheater. But this'll be fun...

Omg I am so bad at strategy, but appreciate the tips. Every word game is different on what it will accept I've found. Emailed you a screenshot of my score for today.Obviously it's going to take some practice, but I'm having fun and becoming somewhat obsessed. (maniacal laugh)

Shared obsession is twice the fun and passion at our age must be obtainable in any way we can find it.

Hmm. Don't think I've ever posted my highest game score. Highest word score, yes, 224 for "assuage." I MAY have reached level 11--totally not sure of that and don't know what my highest was in that game. And I'm PRETTY sure my highest game score was 1400-and-something.

Tell you what, though. I'll make an entry called, um, "Word Wipe Scores" where I'll keep a running account of highest word score, highest level reached, and highest game score, starting today.

Should probably also have a category called "Most Bombs Left Unused on the Gosh-Dang Table," lol. Pretty sure my record for that is 5. No tactical skills here...
