I'm probably gonna spend the rest of the day reading. Not only because I like reading, and therefore won't mind it, but because I pretty much have to.
For a meeting of the book club I hope to rejoin tomorrow. And because I only picked up the book, on a last-second impulse, from Barnes & Noble last night.
I haven't read a whole book, in a single day, in a very long time. But I may be able to manage this one, Marie Benedict's The only Woman in the Room. It's an historical fiction based on the life of actress--and inventor--Hedy Lamarr.
So far, it's a fairly interesting read. And not overly-dense, like the always elegant but occasionally inscrutable Ms. Wolfe, say. So I think I have a shot at it.
The irony, if I do make it tomorrow, is that I may well be the only man in the room for this discussion of The Only Woman in the Room...
