While I was out today, I picked up ground turkey, organic mushrooms and peppers, and a bottle of a decent California Pinot Noir. I've got some organic onions here as well and I'm gonna throw it all together, this afternoon, for a faux Coc-Au-Vin "crumble" which I'll have over mashed potatoes. I'd normally use ground chicken for the "Coc" part of this conCOCtion (see what I did there?), but it's Sunday, the store was slammed with after-church-shoppers, and it was apparently sold out.
I'd originally ventured out to see if the Walmart, on the other side of town, had a blue fleece jacket in my size that I'd seen at the store closer to where I live, but no dice. Same with the spice rack that I'd hoped to find at the Pier One Imports that's over there too. Which means I've run out of excuses for not going down to the basement and just building what I really want.
I'd also intended to stop at the nearby B&N, to eyeball the cheapo recorder I was thinking about, but forgot. Which is just as well because I've also been thinking about getting a couple of better ones and trying to entice my granddaughters into doing some duets, trios, or even just making some annoying, unison chirping noises with me, lol.
Before I went out, though, I tried something that I'd been contemplating the past couple of days--which was to fashion the Seabond denture liners I'd bought into something I could actually wear, now that the healing has progressed and swelling has reduced and I may soon be in possession of my new lowers.
And it worked! I made a reusable pattern out of a 3x5 index card (one I hadn't previously used, lol) and cut one of the standard liners down so that it fits the denture within the inner gumline. And, voila, no bunching, no oozing, no uncomfortable overlap. And, biggest consideration of all, hopefully, no goop to try to brush, pry, or otherwise expel once the dentures come out at the end of the day.
Anyway, gonna head downstairs to chop, saute, and simmer some fine French cuisine for later this afternoon.
Hope everyone has a great rest of the day...
