Yesterday, for whatever incredible reason, felt like a new day!
I went down to the basement and cleared the area I'd thought about for the bike stand and then went to the Home Depot and picked up--barely, lol--a mat to put under it. I still have to vacuum the basement and cut the mat to the size I want before I put it down, but that's in motion.
ALSO, I've decided to get my B-flat pocket trumpet out, do the maintenance on it that I should've done before I put it away, and see if the abdominal repair that I had done months ago is now strong enough to handle the core pressures induced by playing the high brass.
(I've also gotta see whether I can integrate the new dentures into this effort because I've heard that, understandably, they can greatly alter the embouchure, etc.)
Anyway, I'm incredibly excited about this and hope that I can maintain this feeling long enough to actually accomplish something with it. I've got the on-going build on the bike itself, the basement setup for the new stationary stand, and a renewed attempt to engage in musical "performance."
Wish me--and my neighbors, lol--luck...

Date: 2020-07-24 07:07 pm (UTC)Then I said, SCREW IT, pulled the horn out of its dusty case, oiled the valves, and went at it.
Dogs were howling in terror, cars were crashing out on the street, and I sounded TERRIBLE.
But I found that I actually like the full support my dentures give my embouchure and that the abdominal area which had given me trouble about a month out of surgery was fine.
So, YAYYY, I can work with that. And thanks, once again for your kind support!
