Fall Weather Report
Oct. 15th, 2020 03:35 pmThe weather was absolutely gorgeous this morning and for much of the early afternoon. Warm, breezy, hardly a cloud in the sky. So beautiful that no jacket, ear coverings, or base layer were needed for my early ride.
The forecast was for 20% chance of rain, all the way up to 6 this evening when it bounced to 70%. But as I emerged from the store, where I'd gone for a last-minute item for the Coq-au-Vin, I noticed some high, broken clouds overhead and, in the distance, some that were more dense.
By the time I'd made the 5-minute drive home, some pretty dark stuff had moved in overhead and I began to wonder if, instead of doing my workout and then my second ride, I should do the ride now instead.
But it's peak traffic time along this road which is a main arterial between the southwest part of Syracuse and the northwest suburbs. And so, I guess I'll work out and hope it's not raining about an hour from now.
If it is, I guess I'll just be happy that I got in such an utterly amazing and beautiful ride this morning and look forward to what I hope will be a successful venture into faux-French cuisine later tonight.
Hope everyone has a great evening...

Date: 2020-10-15 09:19 pm (UTC)Yeah, I totally get that. I'm sure we're hard-wired, from sometime in pre-history, to be viscerally tuned to the weather, along with everything else around us. And some of us were obviously born with our antennae up.
The wind wasn't as bad, this AM, as it has been on some recent days, but it's definitely a factor--even when it's not blowing straight at you. On a bike, as when walking, a brisk cross-wind burns a bunch more calories than when it's calm.
Wishing you a calm and restful evening with Her Majesty, lol...
