Did It!

Got a ride in just as daylight was beginning to fade. The shoulders of the road were a bit wet, and I did wish that I'd been able to get the new fenders today, but the good news is that I didn't melt.

I did get a better sense of the brightness and range of the flashing LED light I recently put on the front for purposes of safety in low light situations. In fact, it lit up street signs a good half block ahead of me. (I do have it angled down so that it's not an issue for oncoming traffic.)

Anyway, one ride is better than none and I continue to be grateful for these chances to get out in the open air, if only sporadically and for a few weeks longer.

More fun than I had for sure, ended up in the ER, am ok though for the moment.

BP was 200/113 most of the day. Daughter came home and said I had to go. All lab work was great, pretty much marked it up to stress.I had absolutely no symptoms, but my mind does run away with me. Will check with doc after taking pressures for a while to see if it is a pattern.

As Bob Marley say, "Too much trouble in the world." Concerned about daughter's fiancee in Nigeria. The shit is hitting the fan in Lagos big time right now. Things may look bad here, but truly we have no idea.

Meanwhile, I have now added "crossing the streambed to my stationary bike routine"... and I'm reading, "All the Light We Cannot See."

And your concern is so much appreciated. Got to keep propping each other up eh?

Oooh, nooo! Good advice from the daughter! So glad you got it checked and totally understand about the stress. That's why I read things like recipe books and repair manuals while I'm taking my BP in the morning. Most of the time it helps, but sometimes it doesn't.

And I get what you're saying about trouble in the world beyond our own. Just last night I watched a YouTube clip by, I think, CityPrepper counselling Americans not to glamorize or romanticize the possibility of civil unrest because he'd seen the true impact of it during an NGO mission in Kabul.

I've also read "All the Light" and retain a favorable impression of it, but you know what I say about breakfast, lol. Maybe I'll put that one on my "Must Re-Read" list...
