I guess it's fair to say that, being out there on a bicycle in a sometimes stiff breeze this morning, it was cold. When I checked the day's weather, on the local news site, the current temp was 35 degrees. So I grabbed the bag of cold-weather gear I'd saved from years ago and pulled out my Bellwether heavy fleece.

A quick pass with the lint roller, and they were ready to go. I'm not so sure about the rider, lol. But I layered-up, as I'd learned to do, and topped it off with the Russell Athletic windbreaker I'd been using as a rain jacket.

Definitely would've worn the pants as well but was afraid, with their somewhat loose fit, that they might get caught in the chain. And we'd rather be a bit chilly, down below, than to have to explain to the "nice" officer why we were lying there in the ditch.

Anyway, off we went and it was, um, exhilerating. A few times I did feel the chill on the legs, but was crankin' hard enough to be reasonably warm overall. And while there was a little water here and there on the road shoulders, we had our new fenders and didn't encounter any ice. VERY thankful for that, lol.

So now I'm off to finalize plans with my son to get the bike shed put up on Saturday. There's not much to it and I gave him the plans I'd drawn for a simple platform when I saw him yesterday. But when I came out of the house this morning, I noticed the plow guys had put their markers up--one more sign that I'd better get those materials out of the driveway. And soon.

Hope everyone stays warm and has a good day...
