FWIW, I'm not sure there's a consciousness that survives after physical death—except in the case of consciousnesses driven to hang on.

Consciousnessness is tethered to ego. Ego disintegrates. Most of the time.

But I'm confident that essence survives.

Of course, my essence is the same as your essence.

Think of it as if we were cells in the same body.
