Back in the Saddle... Yet Again
Jun. 26th, 2022 01:14 pmTook the day off from two-wheelin' it, yesterday, due to my grandson's graduation and the after-party that I didn't attend.
However, had worked out the night before, had good ROM in all limbs with no discomfort except doing the "step-ups" which really focus on the glutes--where I think I have a bleed inside the muscle on the right side.
Anyway, did my Sunday bike maintenance and hopped back on it for my 9.6 miles. The temp was actually down from yesterday's low 90s but more than made up for it today with the humidity.
AND, amazing news, just got a text back from my youngest daughter that my 1994 Cannondale Delta V-700 may still be at her baby daddy's house!
If so, and I can get it back and get it refurbished, it may be a solution to at least some of my recent problems.
Wish me luck and, to everyone, a good day...

Date: 2022-06-27 02:04 am (UTC)The other part of my daily fitness routine is primarily made up of exercises scripted for me or modified by the various PT trainers I've worked with after injuries and/or surgeries.
Which, of course, includes having had my left knee scoped by Irving Raphael, former orthopedic/training consultant for SU sports. And my expectation is that, at some point in the future, I'm gonna have to do what you've done and have the knee replaced. So, basically, I'm just trying to put it off as long as I can.
Anyway, that's the plan--to whatever extent it's possible to have one at our age.
Hope you're staying safe, having some good days, and finding it possible to do your swims and walks and lifts...

Irving, the one who scoped my knee, was the dad and he and his son Benjamin had their own practice before merging with SOS which is now probably the biggest sports orthopedics practice in CNY.
I'm guessing it must've been quite a coup for SOS to have them join that practice.
Hope you have a good day...

Date: 2022-06-27 04:02 pm (UTC)I had adventures today!
SOS did my knee surgery - Dr. Greenkey, whose SON saw me for my hip. Upstate is making gains on SOS, they are now the folks SU deals with.

Interesting about Upstate v. SOS these days. Wasn't aware of that, not having eyes and ears up on The Hill myself anymore...
