 What an AMAZING evening!

Had two of the grandsons over for dinner, and we made something called "Hot Tamale Pie."

We had a fun time doing it, and all agreed that the recipe is a keeper.

And that we should definitely do this again!

Yes!!! I totally agree! We're trying to bring the younger bro up to speed on kitchen skills, etc, and Jason has shown himself to be a great teacher...

I've never had hot tamale pie. Looked it up and now I need to make it! Good for you with grandsons! Yay.

Thanks, it was fun and we'll definitely do it again! Jason's opinion of the pie was that it's the best thing we've made so far, and I agree with him.

One thing we discovered was that the top layer of cornbread is too thick to be easily spread over the Poblano pepper/salsa/beef filling because it's mixed with about 8 oz. of mixed shredded cheeses.

So, for the top layer, he's gonna use more milk the next time. Bon appetit...
