A Note to My Sister
Aug. 19th, 2024 02:25 pmIt's rained, off and on, ALL morning and it looks like the chances of it clearing and drying, enough that I can ride outdoors today, are somewhere between slim and none.
That said, I HAVE been pleasantly surprised at a couple of things. One is that I find myself looking forward to riding indoors on the trainer, for a change, and the other is that I have a book that I actually feel like sitting down with for a rainy-day read--Joan M. Griffin's "Force of Nature!" (You know, the one we're supposed to be reading together in preparation for your book club meeting.)
I DO have to apologize for still being just 100 pages into it while your meeting is, I think, this week. On the other hand, I feel like I've actually reached a point of emotional engagement with it, which doesn't always happen with book club reads.
I hope the same has happened for you, but I think we both understand that, whether it happens or not, such engagement with a collectively-chosen book is still only part of the club reading experience. So pull on your Nikes and "Just DO It!"
Love you and hope you're doing well...
