When I got up this morning and looked outside, the sun was shining and the shoulders of the road were completely dry. It looked to be the start of an absolutely beautiful, late fall day.

How could that possibly be a bad thing, you might rightfully ask? See previous entry.

My road bike is in the shop for end-of-season service and I'm lookin' at a day that would be PERFECT for one of those miraculously-uplifting, late-season rides. And I could definitely use some uplifting right now.

All of which points to an inherent flaw in the negative personality type.

While those of us so endowed may anticipate, and take timely action to mitigate, the effects of an oncoming event, we may also deprive ourselves of some of the unforeseen joys of this life.

Ah well, I is what I is.

I met a woman named Arlette over at Canton Woods today. It made me think of SueT (whose first name was ArlettA). I remember a Wednesday before Thanksgiving night spent mostly with her and Sherry.

'Tis a beautiful, if cold, day. Not complaining about the cold. Try to have a good Thanksgiving.

Those were SUCH good times, Lynn, the writers group at the LPL with you and Sue and Sherry. And then when we broke off to form our own group and met at Sherry's.

Thanks so much! It was much better than I might've hoped because my grandson called the evening prior and suggested we get together and make a meal after his GF had gone to work.

Which we did, and it was a good time over a meal we'd had many times in the past when the whole family was still togther and living in the city.

I am in the UK, so Thanksgiving isn't a thing here. But it's still great to hear about yours. So pleased it was a good one!
