I think I just wrote the blurb for a Scholastic Books teenie romance. And that what happens next is that I lure some unsuspecting 15-year-old into writing the book for me.

Just as I was thinkin' I finally had the NY Times Book Award squarely in my sights. Turns out it's actually me in the crosshairs of that '70s poster of the (shudder) BeeGees.

Never mind, just gimme the gun and I'll shoot myself...

fyi, i LIKE Scholastic books teenie romances. they relax me. they remind me of a time all was right with the world, in a twisted, psychotically disordered sort of way. and people who write them should NOT be shot. i write them sometimes, or have, rather, in the past.

hey now, point that thing the other way!!

i know. isn't it amazing how quickly the least productive, unpublished writers become total elitists when expressing an opinion on a genre they know next to nothing about?

guilty. and i actually sorta liked the beegees. except that they sometimes trigger flashbacks of my ex-brother-in-law line dancing in a powder blue, 100% polyester, leisure suit.

truth is, if i had it in me to write a good one, i certainly would...
