How I Spent What Was Left of the Morning
Oct. 2nd, 2017 03:18 pmSo I spent what was left of the morning, after getting up late, doing what some of us refer to as "guy things" in the basement workshop. Nothing too involved, just worked on a minor overhaul of a scissor jack which is probably more than half my age but would cost a c-note to replace now with something of equal quality.
Also looked at ways to draw off dust generated by my bench grinder and to keep the thing anchored in one spot, while it's in use, having bought the cheapo Harbor Freight stand which has no provision for decent levelers/stabilizers on the legs. You don't get what you don't pay for and even then you sometimes don't. Huh? Just kidding.
Anyway, just trying to keep busy, keep things moving until my grandson hopefully decides to show up to work here on Wednesday. I try not to do stuff, when he's not here, which he might benefit from learning, but that's just about everything, lol, and it's slowing me down.
Which reminds me, I've gotta buy router bits to replace the set that someone, who used to live in the old house, probably stole. To invest in life-enhancing medications, of course. Lotta sad stories keep following me around, the reminders of them cropping up in unexpected times and places. Like that one.
But that's why I've gotta keep pushing ahead. To leave such things farther and farther behind.
Hope everyone has a good day...
