Pray for Jackson
Mar. 21st, 2014 10:00 amJackson walked into the soccer training center looking pale and thin and small. I mean, that's really the way that Jackson has always looked to me, the pale and thin part anyway, even for an incredibly active--and athletically-gifted--ten-year-old boy.
As far as the small part, he's probably about the same size as my grandson Jason, his teammate on two of the teams that train twice a week at the center. They're both pretty typical 5th grade boys, cute, smart, active, but probably a little below the median height and weight for their age.
Still, there's an aura of frailty that sets Jackson apart from my grandson and the others. And it has nothing to do with his attitude or style of play on the field. Because Jackson, for lack of a better analogy, is a Pitbull player in a Chihuahua body. Which, at this level of play, puts him very much in harm's way.
So, pray for Jackson. Because without some kind of help, up to and including Divine Intervention, Jackson is going to die...
