Foxes and Fossils
Jun. 11th, 2020 04:44 amI've been a fan of Tim Purcell's Atlanta-based cover band, Foxes and Fossils, for about a year now and had, a few months back, signed up for email notification of upcoming projects and premieres.
So I was on hand, yesterday at 7 PM Eastern, when they rolled out their new cover of Todd Rundgren's "Love is the Answer." And I was so taken by it that I sent the link to a short list of family members with whom I wanted to share the music and the message.
For my Dreamwidth and LiveJournal friends, the clip is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWnIkIiVRPQ
The first person I heard back from was my sister in Carson City who is now recovering from a recent, very scary, illness. She's a singer herself and appreciated the fact that, unlike some other family members, we share some of the same musical tastes. In fact, unbeknownst to me, she'd previously been a fan of F&F.
Unfortunately, the next person to respond said "nice to hear from you," never mentioned the video, and then prattled on about the latest Covid-19 conspiracy with which she's obsessing--the complete opposite of any response I might've hoped for in sending the link.
The next two to respond said thanks but had gotten a message that the clip was unavailable. I still don't know why that is, so I'm gonna click on the above link myself to see what happens. I could definitely stand to hear it again and will be interested to see if the link works for me.
To my DW and LJ friends, I hope it works for you--the link and the musical magic that so often seems to be missing from life these days...
