For All the Names I Can't Remember

The most urgent and compelling priority in my life, this evening, seems to be a trip to Walmart to get a pair of blue suspenders.

To, you know, go with the blue jeans and tee shirt that I sometimes wear instead of the brown-toned Dickies that I mostly wear with my Mossy Oak jacket and cap.

Now, even I know that this is fucked up.

Even as I'm saying this, I feel like I'm channeling the commandant of the frontier fort where the ironically-bemedalled Lieutenant Dunbar, who later becomes "Dances-With-Wolves," makes his last stop enroute to the prairie outpost where his life and destiny will ultimately play out.

"Lieutenant," the commandant says, as he is dismissing him, "I have just pissed myself and nobody can help me."

Then, as the Lieutenant rides off, he hears the muffled gunshot from inside the office where the commandant has just put a bullet through his head.

I think I'm gonna watch that movie tonight. For, you know, all the names that I can't remember...
