Livin' the Life

Today will be the first day of my new routine. Got up earlier than I might've wished, but got it started anyway. Maybe take a nap later, I dunno.

There's some doubt about that because the roofers are here and, in a Cape Cod, that puts them within 10-12 inches of the upstairs living space where I have my bedroom and office. So, from 8 AM to 6 PM, it's like living inside a badly-played kettle drum, lol.

Anyway, for now, the routine is: oatmeal/blueberry smoothie, liquid Ibuprofen, warm salt water rinse, retrieve upper denture from overnight bath, brush, and insert. Then gag a couple of times, lol, and live the life...

Ow, Ow, Ow!

Finally got the uppers in--I'd gone back to bed for a bit--and now I'm salivating like I've got a medium rare, filet mignon seductively steaming on a plate in front of me. Which I don't. I'm a looong ways from that, right now.

Just so much more in the mouth, especially at the palate, than what I'm used to. And I'd actually gotten used to it, a little, after having the denture in place over part of a day, then overnight and through the next day. Which is the way you're supposed to do it, the first day after the extractions.

Anyway, as my friend E points out, it's a process and I'm just gonna have to take it a steak, er, I mean a step at a time. While adjusting my expectations along the way. Obviously...
