Walking the Walk
Jun. 6th, 2013 10:33 amThe next few days are gonna be a grind. Actually it's already started. Tuesday night was one of my grandson's numerous league soccer games that fall on the same night that his grandma is scheduled to work. Work is up on the university hill in the city and soccer is on one of several athletic fields that are twenty to thirty minutes away.
Tonight, we do catch a break because she's not working and it's a training session at our home field. And she's off this weekend as well, which is really lucky because Jason's own NYS Junior Soccer Association team is in a four-game tournament on Saturday and he was also invited to help fill another JSA team's roster for their tournament on Sunday.
The team he's playing for on Sunday is actually up an age level but I think he'll be OK because he's trained with them and played against them and he knows and likes the coach. And yeah, we've kind of done this to ourselves but, like I told him this morning, it does no good to "talk the talk" if you're not gonna "walk the walk..."
