Before I took my afternoon bike ride, I dropped off my mail-in ballot at the post office.

Not taking any chances, lol...

I'm going to take mine to the Board of Elections during early voting. I don't want 'him' to say 'they' are not going to accept mailed in ballots.

You know, I was going to do that as well. I even went there to sign up for the ballot. Then I got lazy and dropped mine off when I mailed my bills.

If by "him" you mean Trump, he doesn't have the legal right to do that--voting procedures are controlled by the states.

On top of which, the NYT just dumped a whole lot more pooh on his burgers and fries that he'll be busy dealing with for the foreseeable future.

I know he doesn't have the power, but since, it seems, he can get Congress to do anything for him to say nothing about the Supremes...well.

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that.

And I guess the other side to his recent problems is that they'll surely ramp up his sense of desperation and willingness to try absolutely anything.

Even if it spins the nation, which he's supposedly sworn to serve, into utter chaos...

I agree with that as well. Unfortunately, I think there's every chance that it could get worse. Hope the sunshine has helped a bit today...

Hmm, that's true. I guess we have to hope that integrity still exists at some level in this battered system of ours. If not, the ride could get even rockier...

Good on you! Are mail in ballots new to your state? We've done them here for many years and I really prefer it.

They're new and for a limited time based, I think, on the duration of the pandemic. In applying for it, we had to say that it was due to health concerns or some such language.

I guess my concern is that they might somehow get "mishandled," especially in the current political and ethical climate, but I guess that could happen regardless of what form the balloting took.

To be honest, I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. It's hard not to feel that we've been set up for that by the present administration...

Yes. I have the same expectation of a set up. None of them are subtle about it.
