Concert Day Plus 7

thisnewdayMy grandson texted me around 8:10 this evening to ask if I could pick him up from the restaurant where he works on Friday and Saturday nights because they were letting him off early. (Business has been a bit slow, this spring, and he'd been told he wouldn't be needed at all for the previous night's shift.)
Anyway, I told him yes, and he texted back that he'd call me when he was ready to leave.
By 8:30 I was in the car and on my way down to the village where the restaurant is located and, I dunno, I've just sort of been time-stamping the past couple of days with reference to where I was in the run-up to the Paul McCartney concert a week ago.
When he got in the car and we were driving home, I mentioned to him that, at this exact time a week ago, Sir Paul was making his first appearance on stage, to massive cheers from the audience, and he said, Oh yeah, that was right.
The whole afternoon and evening g had been an incredible experience for us, one that he said that he'd always remember, and I was glad that I got to share this reminder of it with him tonight...
