It's been an eventful day. Not in any sense that will cause so much as an asterisk to appear along some textbook writer's timeline of history. But maybe in the sense that a small ripple may have been sent across the lives and memories of the few who are closest to us. The sense that maybe those ripples, or the effects of them, may one day be found to have lasted beyond our own lifetimes and into someone else's.

Which is not to say that I was necessarily the one that dropped the pebble that made the ripples that... you know. The point is that sometimes our part in this is merely to have witnessed a moment, an event, the dropping of the pebble. Or, even more simply, to have felt that minute wave as it silently crosses the surface of time and afterward to have mentioned it.

In fact, I'm almost sure that's what this is. The mentioning of it...
